When I was a kid, my father used to get me hotwheels diecast models every now and then. For me, they were just toys and I used to ram them with each other, race them with friends' cars, jump them over ramps and eventually damage or break them.
As I grew up, hotwheels car gifts from my parents dried up but not my zeal. Collecting diecast car models became my hobby. There were some of my favorite models but got lost with time. Though I still have a couple of them and keep looking up at the ones I played with. It's sheer nostalgia!
In last 15 years, I have slowly increased my collection close to 250 models. Now my collection is not just limited to Hotwheels. I have added many other makes like Matchbox, Tomica, Maisto, bburogo, Norev, etc. I collect them irrespective of scales. My collection now has not only cars but bikes, planes, trains n ships too. While some are miniature scalemodels of most iconic vehicles manufactured, there are others which have had cult status due to some famous movie, actors or songs. And then there are some fantasy cars or dream machines which were never made in reality.
I see them as work of art. They carry history with them. Furthermore, they carry memories and most importantly they keep the Kid in you alive!
I am fortunate enough that I could club my hobby of collecting car models with my passion for product photography and bring some glimpses to you. If you feel connected to the heart behind my work, navigate through these...
